“How Can I Possibly Believe in God when I Still Have Doubts?”

John 20:19-29

Four Things that Faith is Not

1)      Faith is not the opposite of reason

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” – Hebrews 11:1

2)      Faith is not comprehensive understanding

“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever.” – Deuteronomy 29:29

3)      Faith is not feelings

“For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name.” – Psalm 33:21

4)      Faith is not the absence of doubt

“Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, ‘I believe; help my unbelief!’” – Mark 9:24
