“Why should I believe what the Bible says about how to live my life?”
John 14:15-24
1) The Lord’s commands are necessary
“Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” – John 14:21
2) The Lord’s commands are good
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” – Psalm 119:105
“Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin.” – Romans 7:7
3) The Lord’s commands are freeing
“For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.” – Romans 8:2
“For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.” – 1 John 5:3
4) The Lord’s commands are sanctifying
“Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.” – John 17:17
